Marija Pop-Trajkova ist Anthropologin und lebt in den Niederlanden. Als Master-Studentin im Fach kulturelle Anthropologie und Entwicklungssoziologie hat sie eine ethnografische Untersuchung der Anti-Gentech-Aktivisten in der Region San Francisco im US-Bundesstaat Kalifornien durchgeführt. Ihre Master-Arbeit trägt den Titel „Framing Farming - The Making of the Sustainable Food Discourse in the San Francisco Bay Area, California“.
